Wall, meet forehead.

I have a nigh uncontrollable urge to start smoking cigarettes in the very minuscule hope that they would calm my nerves even the slightest fucking bit, and ease these homicidal urges. And pretty much the only reason I'm not out there walking to the closest shop/newsagents is that it's after midnight, every place is most likely closed, and there's a few miles of very dark road between me and any kind of civilization.

I am so fucking tired right now.

Pictures from London

Here's some pictures of my trip to London! First, Big ol' Freddie outside the Dominion theatre where they are showing the We Will Rock You -musical. Mmmmm.

Then we have the door to Freddie's garden, where fans still keep leaving messages for him, and also flowers. They keep painting it, but the fans always come...

And a bit of the street away from Freddie's. Yeah, all the pictures I took were connected to him. I'm a fan, so sue me... ^^ You can see from the flowering trees how far along spring is here. It was a very warm day as well. I want to go back to London...

Londonlondonlondonlondonlondonlondon

First things first, THIS BLOG NOW ACCEPTS ANONYMOUS COMMENTS AS WELL. I thought it automatically did that...

Second... LONDON! I got to go to London today! Iiihihihihihihiiiii. Had to go and get some art supplies for the bosses from this gorgeous shop. I wanted to stay there, or buy everything I could see. In the end I just bought a few new pens.

Anyhoo, when I first got there, to Paddington train station, I changed into the tube without leaving the station. So when I got out of the tube at Tottenham Court Road, the first thing I see of London above the ground, as I'm walking up the stairs, is a HUGE bronze coloured statue of Freddie Mercury, outside a theatre where they are showing a musical based on Queen's music, We Will Rock You. Have to go and see it one day.

First stop was the art supplies shop. From there I wandered to Oxford Street, where I got a bit lost while exiting a shop through a different door than I had entered it. Bought a very nice bag. ^^

It was starting to get a bit late by then, so I thought that I could either go and get something to eat, or go and see Freddie. That is to say, go where he used to live in Kensington. Well, you can eat any day, but visiting Freddie is a rarer occasion. So I chose that, and tubed to Kensington with the heavy luggage with me (had to get a LOT of stuff from the art supply shop). My MP3-player approved, it kept playing songs by Queen one after the other.

Almost got lost in Kensington again, but found the right place! I could remember it from my last visit in 2003. Left a small message on the famous green door to the garden, and left to find the nearest tube station... which wasn't so near. Walked past the hotel we stayed in in 2003 when we were on a school trip in London.

Then it was back to Paddington station with the tube. Rush hour crept upon me, and had to wait for a train that accepted my cheap day return ticket which is cheaper than normal ticket but valid only outside peak hours. The train back was absolutely full, I had to stand the whole hour it trotted through small villages, taking the long way around. Bu it didn't matter, I think I had a silly smile on my face the whole time I stared out of the window. I still do. Can't help it. I love London.

I'm trying to add some photos here but the damn Blogger won't let me for some reason... bah. Maybe next time. Now, my feet are hurting and I think I'll go put them up for a while. ^^

Ta ta for now!

Captain's log, day 120

That's right! Four months down, two to go! Exactly 120 days in England today!

Umm... can't really think of anything else to say. Weather is nice again, work is keeping me busy as usual, head not falling apart with frustration and shit so much right now. Which is nice. ^^

Ok, I've been staring at this for about ten minutes and can't think of anything to write. More next time, I guess. Bye byyye! o/

Oh really now.

British weather, you are such a tease. I hate you.

On Friday I was working outside most of the day in a t-shirt, and sweating in the heat. Yesterday I was admiring bluebells and forget-me-not's. This morning I woke up, took a look through the window, and just froze.

Four bloody inches of SNOW. Aaaagh! Most of it has melted by now, and it did look really pretty, but honestly. No snow please! It's springtime!

Can't think of one...

Regarding my last post, I think cabin fever is the closest translation to mökkihöperö. I still haven't checked my dictionary for it, but that's what my brother thought and he's pretty darn good with English. Also, the lyrics actually go 'you're simply not in the pink, my dear', not 'into pink'. I think.

It's been very warm here for a few days now, bluebells are coming out as are many other flowers which names I don't know in English, like valkovuokko and voikukka. Spring! Trees are starting to turn green! But the weatherpeople were predicting that it will turn cold again this weekend. They usually get it wrong, though. They say it will rain, the sun is shining, and vice versa. I wish it would stay warm.

Umm, what else. Wednesday last week was my 100th day here, and I did some math in honor of that. There are two dogs here, and I walk them both twice a day. The road I take them down is half a mile in one direction, so a mile per dog per walk, since we have to get back to the house, of course. Two walkies a day, two miles. Two dogs, four miles. 1oo days of four miles a day means I've been walking for 400 miles with the dogs so far. That's about 600 kilometers. Shit! That's five times to London and back, or all the way from Kotka to Joensuu and halfway back. And how far I've gotten? Half a mile. Heh.

Got Poison Elves #80, the very last issue ever. It sucks that Drew, who was so hell bent on telling this story, died before he could finish it. And he was still so damn young.

Uh oh, back to work! o/
