A few announcements.

First of all... Chuck Palahniuk is the man. I would be willing to go and call him one of my writing gods (a writer I really like) alongside Irvine Welsh and Sarah Waters. (can you tell I like Sarah Waters by reading Sun-kissed? Eheheh...) Finally finished Lullaby the night before last. Loved the ending. Well, loved the whole book. One of those you can't put down. Except that I did. For about two months even...

Second: it's SNOWING! Snowsnowsnowsnowsnowsnowsnow! By the sound of the raindrops on the windowsill I thought it rains, but when I opened the curtains, it's snowing! The ground is still too warm and/or wet for it to stay in most places. Have to eat breakfast fast and get out there. I have a day off. ^^

Third: As of 00:18 last night, Ilmyra is now lvl 40! She's also an artisan in Cooking, Fishing, First aid and Skinning. Expert in Leatherworking. Got plenty of leathers to work with, it's the other stuff the recipe's require that's the problem.

And last: Old whore's diet really does get me going in the morning. It's a song by Rufus Wainwright, and it got me going and to work for one whole summer a few years back. Before I changed the cd on my stereos. Now I didn't have any music player except for the computer, so yesterday I finally went and got one. So now I won't have to listen to the ticking of clocks every night in bed. I hate the ticking of clocks with the passion of several burning suns. So this is a big improvement. And that song still gets me going in the mornings. Which are something I also really really despise.

Mmm. Hot milk tea. ^^

It's alive!

Computer, that is. Had to reinstall Windows in the end, and every damn program I had on C, which would be all of them. At least I had all my music and games on D.

During my absence I watched half a season of Babylon 5, ate a tub of Ben & Jerry's, drank some Guinness, cleaned up, drew a picture and dyed my hair purple. Mom's as well. Read several comic books. Watched movies and other dvd's.

...

Guess this thing should break down more often.

Had a bit of a fright yesterday, and suddenly I'm happy with my crappy job and even the fact that I haven't got a place of my own to live in. As long as I'm here. @__@

Now, have to run or I'll be late for that crappy job of mine.

Ranting and raving and carrying on

So the little virus problem was NOT cleared on Wednesday. Nope, not at all. Oh no. I asked for help with this thing, but one who could help apparently doesn't give a flying fuck, and another basically just points and laughs. "You just don't know how to use it." Thank you Captain Obvious. Why do you think I'm asking for help then?!

At least N and her man are trying to help. Thank you lovelies. Not that anything seems to get rid of the fuckers. N's man said I might have to re-install Windows and wipe the whole hard disk clean or something. Which would make me lose all the stuff on the computer. Can't save anything onto a memory stick, since the worms would infect those as well. Can it really be this fucking hard?!

I got all my stories, pictures, photos of London, everything on my computer! Of course I have copies of the stories (photos too, I think...) but not most of the pictures. I'm not completely stupid, even if this thing is making me feel like it.

Can't even play WoW. This whole week has been a complete pain in the ass, and now work is making me want to pull my hair out. "Find the files in this list here. They're not, of course, called the same thing they are on this list, and they can be either in the e-mails from 2005 to 2008, in files or in another computers." Five minutes later: "You're still not done? Well I'll go have a cup of coffee, call me when you're done."

Asshole.

I think I need booze. A lot of it. Need to get my alcohol tolerance to what it used to be... and what better time to start than now.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November...

And congratulations America! Woo!

What a bright and sunny -and cold- 5th of November it has been. I had intended to spend the afternoon, after getting off work, doing some casual questing in WoW (Ilmyra is 32 already!) and by watching V for Vendetta. Again. Instead, I spent four and a half hours trying to get an especially stubborn virus out of my computer. The smarter one eventually gave in and disappeared, after I had completely lost my temper and drank half a bottle of Amarula fruit cream.

Then I watched V for Vendetta. The end music is still playing. Hugo Weaving is the man. I've liked him since I first saw him in The adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the desert. That's got to be the best movie in existence.

Tattoo is healing very nicely, the old skin is pretty much all gone. Sweet. I got two more planned!

Now, to bed.

Adventures in permanent ink

I got tattoo'd! 8D

I've been wanting a tattoo since I was quite young, but I never could decide on the picture. A few years ago I did find the perfect picture, and now it's finally on my hip. A bit achy, red and swollen still, so no photos yet.

Meant to get it done last year already, when N and I were in Oulu for a few days, but the tattooist there called us a few hours before our appointment that she'd missed the train she had a ticket for, and didn't have money for another ticket. So no can do. I decided to get it done later, but then that whole trip to England happened.

Now, soon after getting back, I decided that if I'm not getting tattooed NOW I'll never get it done. So I went to the local Igor's to ask about prices and such, and the guy said he could do it right there and then. Too bad that I didn't have time then; we agreed that he'd do it on the 13th.

13th arrived, and as I was walking to the tattoo place, he calls me and says he can't do it then. So we agree on Wednesday the 15th. Uh oh, I have to spend all of the following day in a seminar, and going to a friend for the rest of the week after that. Ok, let's move it to the 20th, then.

20th arrives, and... yeah. X) I'm at work, and the tattooist calls me that he's halfway across Finland and his car broke down, and therefore he won't make it here for 4 o'clock, so how about at six? I had already promised to be somewhere at six, but after several text messages I call him back, ok, at six it is then.

Few hours later he calls me again to say that his car is still not working, so how about when he makes it back here? I'll get the tattoo at half price. All right then.

A week passes and no word from him, so on Tuesday I went to the tattoo place, and the piercing girl made me an appointment with him on Friday at noon.

Friday arrived... I slept in since no work today, woo! and waited for the phone to ring and the whole deal to be postponed again. But, not this time. ^^

It didn't hurt as much as I would have thought... some spots did, and some I didn't even feel. Lying in that dentist's chair just made me sleepy. And I'm happy with it. ^^

Happy Halloween! \o/

It's like riding a chocobo!

DING! Ilmyra hit lvl 30, and with the monetary help of J, got herself her very first mount. ^^ Also the first one any of my peeps have ever gotten. Hooray!

I've been house-sitting for the bosses while they're on a sunny beach holiday. Been here since Monday, but I think I'll head home tomorrow. I miss the cat. And they're coming back on Friday. All I've really been doing here is playing WoW and eating. Good times.

Something special is supposed to happen this Friday, but it's already been postponed so many times that I don't believe it will actually happen until it's pretty much done. Further explanation and possibly pictures if it occurs. Don't hold your breath, though. Neither will I...

For the Horde!

So, lately I've been playing (maybe a bit too much?) World of Warcraft. But it's been so much fun doing quests again, and to run around Khadgar with my little blood-elf rogue. Ilmyra is already lvl 25. ^^ Yeah, a tiny little rogue, I know. I have one friend who also plays on the European servers, but all his characters are between levels 60 to 70, so we're in quite different leagues there. =)

Also, just finished the next chapter of Sun-kissed, so there will most definitely be an update this weekend. The chapter still needs quite a bit of editing, but I really need to be awake for that. Now I'm not. ^^ The amount of smileys is clear proof of that.

Alo also, Blizzard is good. I spent countless hours playing the old Warcraft-games as a kid (I forget which one we had, though... should still have it somewhere), and every time I see a familiar name or hear a familiar sound I just squee. ^^

Also also also... there is no also also also. I'm off to bed, long day of work coming tomorrow. After that, the bosses will be gone for a week. A whole week! Oh joy! Guess what O'll be doing?! 8)

I guess there was an also also also after all. ^^

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Phew.

The seminar is over! Yay! I kept almost falling asleep... I'm sorry, but all this insurance-talk just isn't as exhilarating to me than to those who actually work with insurances...

The seminar was like one of those parties where a friend drags you, promising you'll have a good time. The friend knows everyone and you know no-one, nor what they're talking about. Except that the friend was my boss, everyone was wearing a suit, small-talk was expected and there was a meal with a lot of booze. It felt like a personal hell, but got easier after the first glass of most excellent red wine. ^^

Now it's 8 in the morning on Friday. And I have a large cup of tea. ^^

Aaahahahaa

...I'm wearing matching shoes and purse. And a suit. I feel silly.

At least the shoes are Dr. Martens and the purse has a broken zipper. Now I feel sillier.

Off to Hell, sinking! \o/

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Oh joy.

Tomorrow I'll be spending the day in a law/insurance seminar. Wearing a suit. And after that, dinner with law and insurance people. Two things I know nothing about. Woopde-flippin'-doo. But it's free food and free booze and maybe I can doodle something during the lectures. Also, will be spending a long weekend at a friend's place, most likely watching too much Babylon 5. If it is possible to watch too much B5. I doubt it.

Sun-kissed is almost back on track, I know where it's going again. If I get the chapter done I'll update this week. If not, next week. If not then either, I'ma gonna open a can of whoopass on myself. Don't like this inactive passive meh thing of doing nothing. Must do something.

Very tempted to start playing WoW again. I'm not much of a player, I've got several characters on a few realms, but the one I've played the most with is only lvl 30. And I don't play that well with others, I'd rather just solo everything. So why play something like WoW? Well, it is pretty. The quests are repetitive, but it's damn pretty. Still, the urge comes from time to time.

What else... my mom lost her job today. She's overjoyed. X) I can relate to that...

Ahh, London. I miss thee.

Quiz thing

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBPC - The Daydreamer

Nature, Background, Big Picture, and Color

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the colors around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You are a down-to-earth person who enjoys going with the flow.

I feel so accomplished.

Today, I re-laced my boots. Wohoo!

I bought these cute laces from Heathrow the first time I was coming back: they're white with the Underground-logo printed all over them. They don't reach even halfway up of my boots but eh. They're pretty.

It's really beautiful outside, and I love the smell of yellow leaves.

That's all I got to say. ^^

My collections. Let me show you them.

Bored. Can't write. No inspiration. Have some pictures!

Mah action figure collection. Part of it anyway.

Freddie Mercury from the seventies, Kino (Kino no tabi or Kino's Journey) and Seras Victoria (Hellsing) as groupies/security. There ain't no getting past those two girls.

Final Fantasy VII has been a major obsession of mine for... near seven years now.

Aeris: That's the one! He stepped on my flowers! *pointing at Reno*
Cloud: ...I'm going to enjoy this.
Vincent: The flowers shall be avenged.
Reno: Not cool, yo.
Sephiroth: Excuse me, people. Are you forgetting who's the real threat here?!

Can't wait to get Zack up there as well. ^^

L from Death Note. His clothes are made of real cloth and clothes from my old Barbies fit him as well. I have photographic evidence of this.

He's probably pondering how to finish the sentence hanging in the air...

Axel and Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II, fighting over the last seasalt ice cream. Oh what fragile thing a friendship is...

And my latest purchases, Red XIII/Nanaki and Cait Sith from FF7. They don't have a proper home yet. No room on the Seventh shelf.

That's not my complete collection... I also have Edward Scissorhands, two more Seras', a tiny Cloud, Orko from He-man (the 80's one), Maggie Simpson, Roger Rabbit from Who framed Roger Rabbit, and Zidane Tribal and Vivi from Final Fantasy IX. I might be forgetting something... or rather, someone.

Music meme

Wow, long time no log-in. Got tagged by N for a music meme thing, to list five favourite songs of the moment. So here we go. ^^

"Tämän syksyn parhaat biisit, jotka saavat olla joko täysin tuoreita tai mahdollisesti vanhempia tapauksia. Postaa siis lista näistä viidestä tämän hetken lempparilaulusta blogiisi ja haasta sitten viisi muuta bloggaajaa samaan!"

#1:
Ensimmäisenä X Japan ja Art of Life, joka on aika pitkälti kaikkien aikojen suosikkilauluni. Linkissä eka osa josta pääsee loputkin ihastelemaan. Yleisen parhauden lisäksi ajankohtainen sillai, että toivon mukaan pääsen setiä livenä näkemään tuossa marraskuun lopulla.

#2: Phantom of the Opera ja Music of the Night, esittäjänä tässä se ensimmäinen Phantom, Michael Crawford. Sarah Brightman näyttää vähän hassulle tuossa alussa... Miksi tämä? No siksi. ^____^

#3: Crisis Coren lopputunnari, eli Ayakan Why. Nätti, surullinen laulu. Zaaaaaack! ;__;

#4: Alkaa käydä vaikeaksi... no tietenkin. Rufus! Rufus Wainwright! Rufus on rakkautta. Rufus on parsa. ^^ Between my legs on laulun nimi. Luulin jo pimahtaneeni tätä ekan kerran kunnolla kuunnellessain, koska olin edelliset pari viikkoa kuunnellut Phantomin soundtrackia nukkumaan mennessä, ja yksi ilta sitten vaihdoin Rufukseen. Puoliunessa sitten ihmettelin että miten voi kuulua Phantomia kun Rufusta olin kuuntelevinani. o__O Turjake lainannut Phantomia! :D

Plussana vielä fanittajalle, vieraana tällä videolla Jake Gyllenhaal! \o/

#5: Ja viimeisenä Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel laululla Make me smile (come up and see me), joka on miun henkilökohtanen Lontoo-lauluni. Tahtoo takasiiiiii...

Siinä ne. Taggaisin jonkun mutta kun en N:n lisäksi muita plokkaajia tunne, ja N jo vastasi. ^^

Yes, you became a hero.

The following contains spoilers for Final Fantasy VII - Crisis Core. If you are playing it or are going to play it, be warned. Although... anyone who's played FF7 knows how this one ends...

Finished Crisis Core last night. Haven't cried that much over a fictional character since the final episode of Six feet under. *weeps* Next, I'm gonna start Final Fantasy VII once again! Yay! Then give Dirge of Cerberus another go. It was nice enough when I first got it, but FPS games aren't really my thing. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside...

The ending was just... horrible. At least it felt like it. I mean the final battle, when Zack leaves Cloud behind and goes to fight the Shinra army. I was already crying by then... <__< all the more when I had to fight those bastards! And the DMW started to go and the enemy just keeps coming and you know Zack's going to die and you still have to fight those fuckers... and then when the three gunners approach him, all beaten and bloody, and they just shoot at him and now I'm gonna cry again soon...

But then I realized why the fighting. I mean, of course he will fight them. He doesn't know he's going to die. He needs to save Cloud and get to Aeris. So of course he fights. But why the player also has tofight (through the tears even)? Because. He won't just lie down and give up. The player's been with him through the whole game, and will fight with him to the bittersweet end.

The ending video was beautiful. And made me cry. *bawl*

...had to dig it up...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jb4Ws1lPHc

*bawls some more*

Ok, enough of that.

So, first day of work done. First hour, to be exact: translated four pages of legalese from Finnish to English in one hour! New personal record. I had forgotten a lot of the words, though, so the pages are riddled with Finnish. Few more hours of work again tomorrow, then hopefully no more this week.

Too bad I got somewhere to be tonight or else I'd likely start FF7 right now. But no, starting print making class again tonight! I can't remember what taidegrafiikka exactly is in English... you know, the stuff with etchings, paints, making pictures on copper and whatnot and printing them on paper... anyhoo, that's what I'm going to be doing every Tuesday evening from six to nine until next spring, unless I decide to move somewhere far, far away. I don't want to stay here for the rest of my life, that's for sure. And it would be easy to move now-ish, when I don't have a proper job or an apartment or anything.

So... a lot to think about. Oh, and have to finish tomorrow's chapter of Sun-kissed. It's almost done. ^^ About bloody time, too!

Oh yeah... being a collector of action figures... why the hell won't they make one of Zack?! I demand one! Now! My collection has a Zack-shaped hole in it!

London!

Here's some of my favourite photos/places from London. I have over 120 photos, and those are just the good ones. I love digital cameras...

Camden Town! From along the market street. The hotel I stayed in was very near, maybe a mile and a half away. I went to the market three or four times, and found myself a hat, a cool jacket and kickass shoes. They kill my feet.

A sign in St. James's park. I was disappointed when I didn't see any pelicans, but like my brother said... why would there be pelicans there when no-one feeds them?

If I'm not completely wrong, this is a monument to Queen Victoria. It's right outside Buckingham Palace anyway. See that blue sky? That's how the weather was when I was in London. Only one rainy morning...

London from above! Visited St. Paul's cathedral, and climbed from its bottom (the crypt! Oooh, spooky!) all the way to the top. 257 steps to the Whispering Gallery inside the cathedral, 119 steps up to the Stone Gallery, on the outside, and 152 more steps to the top, the Golden Gallery. This is taken from the top. Needless to say, the view is marvelous. I think it's about as high, or higher, than the London Eye, which you can see almost on the center of the picture, a bit to the left.

And St. Paul's cathedral itself. The Golden Gallery is a little below the cross at the top, on top of the dome. Well worth the ten pound entrance fee.

King's Cross station. ^^

Maaaan, I want to go back. And see the Phantom of the Opera again. *whine*

Motherphucker! XO

I start work tomorrow. >:L

Ehh, all right, it's just part time, and most likely not even every day. But still. I had promised myself I would not go back there. Not England, no, but the job I had before going to England.

Damn it. NO is such a small word, why is it so hard to say?

Home again.

For good this time!

Ah, hard to believe it's been a week already since I left. Stayed in London for a few days again, and loved it. Even though I walked so much I thought my feet would kill me in my sleep. They still might: I bought new shoes that are very nice, but murder to wear. At least until they, or my feet, adjust a little.

Should I post some pictures from my adventures in London? I'll have a look through them, if there are any good ones.

London made me write! I got so many ideas for Sun-kissed at one part of London... won't say which, don't want to give anything away. And also... on Saturday, as I was walking on Oxford Street, trying to find a nice T-shirt, I was asked at one department store if I would like to get a free make-up. The lady managed to eventually talk me into it by saying that I would notice the difference... no doubt about that, lady. I'm not so good with make-upping...

Anyhoo, once she was done (I actually looked healthy!), she showed me the things she had used on me. And the lip gloss she had chosen for me from a few dozen colours... can you guess what that was called?

I kid you not: Sun kissed.

I had to buy it. It was clearly a sign that I have to get off my lazy ass and write. So I did. I FINALLY have Wednesday's chapter almost done. Over half of it. Close to 3/4 done. Next Wednesday, as promised, it will be uploaded. ^^

What else... went to see a Finnish version of Jesus Christ Superstar with N on Tuesday. It was very good, despite that it was shown at an outdoors theater... cold!

More or less settled in Finland, although I don't think my head has yet wrapped around the fact that I am really here.

Bought the Phantom of the Opera -movie. Liked it, but of course it can't compare with the stage version. ^^ Especially the Phantom's make-up... come on, I see scarier sights in the mirror most mornings!

Quoted Hill Street Blues last time... or the time before that, I forget. Funnily enough, it's starting as a rerun right about... now.

Let's be careful out there.

The phaaaaaaaaantom of the opera is heeeeere... in my miiiiiind.

Today I got to see -and meet- the Phantom of the Opera in London, at Her Majesty's Theatre. And it was quite magical. Thanks to connections I had a pretty good seat at the Royal Circle, with a good view of the stage. The Phantom was played by the first understudy, Mr. Nic Greenshields, who is quite tall and has a great, strong voice.

I've never seen the movie or the show, so I didn't really know what to expect when it started with an auction, years after the events of the play. But once they plugged in the great chandelier and hoisted it up, and the music started (you know the one, quoted in the subject line), my face went something like 8O and stayed that way. Especially when it came down again, and when the candles in the cave came up from the floor. During the masquerade scene, when the Phantom reveals himself, he looked just like the dead pirate guy from the Monkey Island games. Heh.

The stage, the dresses, the songs, all wonderful. I'm still a bit high on the experience so don't know what else to really say except wow. X) There was a lady from New Zealand sitting next to me, and during intermission we talked a little, and she said she had just been in Paris to see the opera house the theatre and the stage were made to look like, and apparently they look exactly the same.

Bought the soundtrack. As soon as I transfer it to my computer, that song is going on my phone as a ringtone. ^^

The show started at 2:30 and ended just after five, but the time just flew by. Like I said, I got to meet the Phantom himself, and the lady who does the makeup for the show. He was already without his wig and in a dressing gown, so not so ... intimidating as I would have thought. Would have been cool to see him up close in all the makeup. It looked very good from where I was sitting, but it was too far to see details. They were quite busy so I was ushered to the back door of the theatre after about five minutes, and I made my way through the throng of fans out to Haymarket, with a silly smile on my face.

Had a big scare, though, once I got into the tube and towards Paddington station to head back here, since I couldn't find my wallet in my bag. Paskahalvaus, as we'd say in Finnish. So I got out at the next stop and rushed to the train heading back towards Piccadilly circus, fearing that all my money, my driver's license and credit card were all gone for good.

Then I checked the inside pocket of my bag, where I ALWAYS keep my wallet. And there it was now, as well, of course. Feeling very, very stupid, I headed back to the other side of the station and traveled to Paddington.

About 38 and half hours to go before I leave here, so it's most likely my next transmission will be from Finland. ^^ I realized on my way back here that I will miss my bosses. I won't miss the 10-14 hour long days, but I imagine it will be odd to be back home again. With no real plan on what to do next. Quite exciting as well.

Ta ta for now! =)

It's the final countdown! ...again.

All day long I've had a Finnish song playing in my head. It's about how the last five kilometers before reaching a loved one's door are the longest ones. The last five days before leaving a rough job are also pretty damn long. Today has seemed to go on and on and on and on and on, despite that we've had a lot of work to do. In the morning me and the other girl relocated a ton of sand from place A to place B. It was surprisingly easy. And yes, there really was a ton of it.

After that we've been stacking wood and treating it with woodworm killer. Again. I tell you, if I never have to see (or smell!) woodworm killer (and wet-or-dry sandpaper) ever again as long as I live, I will be a happy hamster. Oh yes.

So the big, urgent thing I came back for was yesterday. Was I a lot of help? No, I basically stood there. I got to pick up a bowl, and to hold a post still for a while. And clean up after it was all done. Wahey. Yeah, really worth coming back for a month.

Ooh, I did finish a good, albeit quite confusing book yesterday. 'Rant' by Chuck Palahniuk (the guy who wrote Fight Club). N, I will make you read this book. 8D Then we'll go driving, even if you're obeying traffic laws now. ^^ I recommend Rant to all who like strange humour, quite unique characters (that's quite an understatement there...), creepy fairytales and thumb-tacks in their food.

I think that's all for today. Let's be careful out there. ^^

It's raining, it's pouring... again!

It's been raining on and off for several days now, and the air is cooling. I likes. Feels like autumn. I was under the impression that summers last longer here, until September at least, and I've been told that it's uncommonly cool now.

So, tomorrow the urgent work is finally starting. Only a week before I leave here. Heh. We do masks here for a theatre show, and a new understudy is starting in a few weeks, and needs some masks that fit him. Luckily he is only the second understudy, and therefore won't need so many masks, and we won't have to make as many moulds (to make masks) as with the main actor or the first understudy. Tomorrow we'll make a plaster cast of his head when he gets here, and then get cracking. So my last week here should be quite busy. Busier than it's been so far. Which means I might just have time to sleep...

But ehh. Just a week to go! Counting days, and even hours already.

Watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics last week. The most common comment was "How did they do THAT?" Really cool stunts and effects. But what was Sarah Brightman doing there? Besides the obvious, of course.

Can't really remember if I had anything else to write about... nothing much happens here beside work. There was a third girl here for a week, but she left this morning to go back to her boyfriend. Why come here at all then?

Now, gotta take a dog out. Tooduloo!

Still alive.

Almost halfway through this gig, only 16 more days to go! I think I should mention to my bosses that I'll be going home soon, don't you think? =p Not looking forward to it, since I know at least one of them is going to put up a fight. Also, because there's still no sign of that urgent job I came here to do, it might well be I'll be home before it gets here. Can't be helped, I guess. I'm not gonna change my schedule anyway. Sounds selfish and is selfish, but I've worked my ass off here and I need to get out for good.

Umm, nothing special happening here... besides the above. Last week I learned what happens when you drop a walkie talkie into the toilet bowl. It stops working. Oops. So used to carrying one, when I was in Finland my hand kept creeping to my backside, where I keep it.

Ooh, gotta dash to the village! Yay, good long walk. ^^

This. Is. SPARTA!

The neighbourhood the bosses live and work in (and me as well, unfortunately...) is known as rich. Here, the houses do not have numbers. They have names. And today one of them caused me great amusement as I walked to the village in the morning. You see, during my very-and-altogether-too-short holiday in Finland N and I watched 300, and the joke version of it, Meet the Spartans. Unfortunately we watched the joke one first and therefore spent the actual movie laughing as well. And what made me laugh this morning was realizing (and remembering) that one of the houses along the road is called Sparta. ^^

...and that's been pretty much the high point of my first week here. It's terribly hot, no wind, flies everywhere, too much work to do, not enough free time etc. etc. etc......... you get the idea. Also, I do not want to be here.

My boss is a photographer, among other things. He hasn't taken any picture of me before, but yesterday, as I was waving a scythe at some nettles and hay, sweaty all over, wearing my most torn pants ever, a dirty shirt and covered in dirt, he suddenly tells me to turn around and takes a photo. Then makes fun of me because I have fat cheeks.

=(

He also finds it greatly amusing to poke at my stomach and watch it wibble.

What else... I really dislike Garfield. Davis has admitted that he created the comic just to make money, and has kept on doing it only for money. Trust me, Jim, IT SHOWS. But this:

http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/

THIS is great. Heh.

Should get to writing Sun-kissed eventually... as if I'm gonna get enough time off from work to do any proper writing. But eh, three more weeks, tops. I HAVE to be back in Finland by the 26th of August, and my intention is to go home well before that. Stop in London for a few days on the way, heh. Now, if we only could get STARTED with the bloody urgent work I came here to do... but it's not our end that's causing the hold-up. So nothing we can do but wait. And work on other shit. Stuff. Shit. Which ever. Whatever.

Hee. Sparta.

Back in the UK again...

...and I want to go home already. Well, ever since I got back to work, really. Ehh, it's not so bad, I guess, but it takes a while to get used to all this shit again. I had rather hoped (and prayed and wished and sacrificed a few virgins) that I wouldn't ever have to get used to this again. But I guess this means I can take another holiday in London before I go home. Whenever that will be.

So, second day here, and I've already fallen from a tree. Luckily I was only about six foot from the ground, and the branches below slowed my fall quite nicely. It must have been the slowest falling-from-a-tree ever. I was laughing by the time my ass hit the ground. What was I doing in the tree? Trying to pull down these weed-like things that grow all the way up in it. Because that's the kinda stuff you get to do in this job while there's nothing else to do. Wahey.

Sorry, I'm quite cranky. Want to go home. Bleh.

Umm, but I had a lovely time in Finland. Saw two of my dearest friends, my bro, parents and even a cousin. Drew one picture. Heh. Played a lot of Crisis Core. Didn't get any writing done.

Yesterday was kinda odd. Woke up extremely cranky a six, so that I could catch a bus to the airport after seven. I've never been less excited to fly. I love to fly! But yesterday the only thought on my mind started with 'f' and rhymed with duck. At least until I got to the gate.

The flight was overbooked, so I had been asked if I wouldn't mind volunteering to taking a later flight (2hrs later). I agreed, and that's what happened. There were two other volunteers, girls about my age. The two hours went by quickly, chatting with one of them and playing more CC. The flight also passed quickly since I was sitting next to that same girl, and we were chatting some more. Which was nice.

The earth below seemed completely covered with clouds, but they opened up a little when we got close to Britain, and gave us a marvellous view of London as the plane circled over it, waiting for permission to land. It was beautiful. The rest of the trip here went well, and now it's back to work work work. Hopefully not for too long, though.

I think that's it for now. Bye bye pretties!

Honey, I'm home!

Yay! Arrived at home last Monday evening, safely and more or less in one piece. Unfortunately I have no net connection at home, I'm updating this at N's place while she's in the sauna. Hee. ^^ I've got about ten pages worth of text on my short holiday in London, but that'll have to wait for another time. And really, I doubt anyone will want to know all the details, so I'll just write up a short account.

Last week was supposed to be my last at that job, but as several unexpected things happened, I reluctantly agreed to go back for a few weeks. Next Monday.

...

That gives me a week's holiday here at Finland. Almost three of those days are already gone. But at least the bosses are paying for the flights. And maybe this week off will be enough to make me last a few more over there. Few more very busy weeks, I'm afraid.

Sun-kissed will most likely not update this week; I can surely say it will not update on time, since Wednesday is already almost over. I've barely started Wednesdays chapter. I know what happens in it, but haven't had time to write it. It will update as soon as I can manage finishing it. Sorry! But as I've not seen my friends and family in about seven months, and won't see them again for a while, I'm afraid writing, no matter how much I love it, will have to take backseat for a while.

In summary, London was brilliant and stole my heart again, going back to UK next week, now having a movie night with my best friend. Back later!

It's the final countdown!

Hello boys and girls! Less than 48 hours now until my work here is done. Wahey! May be that next time I get to write here will be from Finland. Hee. Home sweet home.

After yesterday I can add electrician to the list of things I've been here. And the boss said I could try rewiring a wall socket today. Ooooooooooookay then. Under his supervision, of course. He also said that by the time I'm forty, I should be able to beat any man with the skills I've learned here. Bah. I'd say by the time I'm 30! Considering that I've done pretty much everything here from plumbing to building a computer. Still need to learn to fix a car, but I doubt I'll get a chance to do that within today and tomorrow. And certainly not on their Daimler! ;)

I should probably start packing soon. Going to do laundry tonight, so after that. Eek! Take care, everyone!

Miiidniiiiight, all alone in the computer roooooooom

It's 1 o'clock really, almost bedtime, but since I'm on the computer...

Friday was interesting... *cough* it was my 200th day here! The day I leave is #206, so almost there. Just over 80 hours. Yes, I'm a tiny bit excited.

The 'new' girl left on Saturday after she had a small accident on Friday. Nothing serious, but her parents wanted her home and since they were the ones to pay for her ticket, home she went.

Also, had a strange encounter on Friday evening. I was taking some waste water out to the bonfire on the backyard (thanks to all the gardening we've done, the pile for the bonfire is the size of a small house). As I got close to it I noticed some movement right by the bonfire. A little teeny weeny bunny, just sitting there, eating a leaf with its eyes closed. I froze immediately, not wanting to scare it. I think it hadn't noticed me, since it just carried on eating. I lowered my bucket of water to the ground and got down on my hands and knees. The bunny still had its eyes closed as I crawled closer. Only when I was so close that I could have reached out and touched it, it jumped away. But just a few inches. I moved closer, it jumped a few more inches.

Odd. Usually the rabbits here (and there's so many of them they're a menace!) hop away from the slightest sign of human activity.

Humm ho, what else... four more mornings here. Four more times I will go to bed here. Eight more walkies with each dog. Four more times will I close the shutters in the evening.

Hee. Night night!

N, onnea haastatteluu! ^__^/

Sun-kissed excuses

Regarding Sun-kissed, today's chapter does seem like a bit of a cop-out, doesn't it? S was meant to meet Alby, but he had to cancel since it's against his chosen religion to leave the house on a Monday. His religion, which I hope to join one day, is called No Way In Hell Am I Getting Out Of Bed On A Monday -ism.

So instead, the girls just have sex all day long. You can imagine the details.

...

Ok, the truth? This one was really meant to be Tuesday, but I can't get Monday's chapter ready in time. Especially after a new plotbunny jumped at me from behind a corner, and I have to rewrite half of it. But it will be better than the original, I promise! Next Tuesday! It will also be the last chapter to come out before I go home. Weeeeeeeeee!

Bat dung and updates

No auction for me last time, the bosses made it in time, but I did end up crawling between the inner ceiling and the roof, covered in bat dung after we noticed a leak in the hot water boiler. At 2:30 in the morning. So the day wasn't a total loss, right?

The bats around here are quite small and cute. When I'd water the plants on the backyard in the evenings, they would come and fly around. The new girl does the watering these days. 'New', she's been here a month already!

11 days left!

Just updated Sun-kissed. My initial idea was to update Monday's chapter tomorrow, but it's not finished yet and I don't know how much work there is still to do tonight, whether I can finish it today or not. I haven't yet decided whether to leave it until the following Monday or put it up as soon as I can finish it. Tuesday's chapter is already done and ready, though!

Umm, that's all I can think of right now. So, tooduloo!

The hills are aliiiiiiiiive...

14 more days! Two weeks! 336 hours! Then I will be done with this job! Wheeeeeeeeeee!

In the next chapter of Sun-kissed, coming this Sunday, everyone will be NAKED. So get to reading! Naked! ;) I'm sorry, I just bought a ticket home, so I'm a bit NAAAAAAKED! I mean happy. Not naked. If I were alone here I might be naked as well, but alas, I'm not. Yeah, that's what you all needed: a visual image of me naked. I apologize.

Today has potential of becoming quite interesting. The bosses are away in Brighton, but they have an auction to go to as well, in Slough, which is near London. And if their trip to Brighton gets delayed, I have to go to Slough and take part in the auction. I've never been in one, and am a bit nervous about the whole thing. But apparently the guy holding it is slow: he only sells about 70-80 lots per hour. That's SLOW?! There's over 900 lots to be sold.

Oh! Crisis Core is out in Europe! 8D Has been for almost a week already! I'm still debating whether to buy it, since I don't own a PSP. There's a game shop in Reading where they sell used ones as well as new ones, and they're not so pricey, so, thinking about it. I'd love to buy the game because of Zack (lovelovelove!) and the backstories and whatnot. Gackt being in it is just amusing (I respect the man very much for his musical talents and dedication to what he does, but damn it, he's everywhere!), but the thing that's put me off the game is what I've read of Squeenix's changes to the original story. That Sephiroth wasn't the only one of his kind (Genesis?), which was pretty much the thing that made him go cuckoo, thus causing ...well, everything in the game.

Silly Squeenix. Retconning is for fanwriters.

14 days!

Happy Midsummer!

Here it's quite cold, rainy and windy, which is normal weather for Midsummer, at least in Finland. Although I remember that it was quite nice last year, almost too hot.

Umm, do I have anything to say... still alive, obviously. Barely. The day before yesterday I worked for about 14 hours straight, with barely any breaks in between. Yesterday 12 hours. Gahh. 19 more days!

After long days like that, relaxing in front of the telly usually wins over coming to the computer. Therefore I owe a lot of people e-mails. Sorry! And the latest chapter of Sun-kissed isn't as proof-read as I would like it to be. I have maybe a page's worth of text for the next chapter... funny, I had thought that getting another worker here would give me more free time and ease my workload. Instead we're just both working our asses off on different projects which seem to come from an endless supply.

19 more days... ehh, back to work I guess. Ta ta for now!

Things I have found in my bra

A live spider

Twigs

Leaves

Shreds of leaves

Pips

Sand

Small pebbles

Dirt

Ashes

…we’ve done a spot of gardening here. A spot of about two weeks now. Phew. Filled up holes in the half a mile drive, pruned half the trees and bushes along the same, pruned down the things growing on the side of the house, and all the ‘hedges’ (as high as the house on most places) and the weeds of course as well. Most of these while standing on the top of a shaky ladder. And we also burned most of the trash created by all this, along with a conifer tree about 30 feet long. Phew again.

Six months here yesterday! 182 days! Three weeks and one day to go. Seems so long…

On Sunday, after a long day of pruning and cutting, the boss decided that he wants to take us all out to dinner! So we went to this place called the Swan, established 1642. And I finally had my first pint of beer in England, along with fish and chips. And damn but it was a good meal. Oh yes.

The new girl is still here, and seems to be staying, at least until August or so. And on Monday another new girl arrived, but she had a bit of a shaky start and left yesterday. Me, I’m almost done. Have to buy a ticket home soon! Wheeeee!

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

29 days, 696 hours! Well, it's almost 28 by now, this day is almost done.

I had a lot of things on my mind which I wanted to write about, but all that comes to mind right now is that the X gig is postponed due to Yoshiki's health issues. Sucks, but as long as he'll be all right I don't mind. That's the most important thing.

...got distracted there for about half an hour. Now I really have no idea what I was going to write here. Most annoying.

I should be writing Sun-kissed, updating it again on Friday. Then next chapter Saturday next week, then Sunday the following week, etc. until the first part is done. And I still haven't finished even Saturday yet. Just have not had the time. Gaah. Or when I do have time, the new girl is sitting on her computer here. So far we only have one adapter, and this puppy won't run long without juice.

Just started to rain. It's been quite OH SHIT JUST REALIZED I LEFT THE FRENCH WINDOW OPEN IN MY ROOM!!! Shit, the rain will come inside. Better run. Crap.

Right. It's been so warm here that I'm sleeping practically naked. Usually I wear long pyjamas and woolly socks at least until midsummer. But now it is hot, partially because the sun shines onto my room's roof all day long.

Half an hour more till my laundry is done... right, better start writing then.

Of dreams and wishes

"Be mindful of the prayers you send,
pray hard but pray with care.
For the tears you are crying now
are just your answered prayers..."

Those words by Nick Cave have been playing in my head for a few days now. I wished for so long that I could get another job and quit my old one. Then this one came along: artist's assistant. Blimey, working as something I studied for, and want to do! And not only that, but in Britain, and just a short distance from London, the city I love. Like a dream come true!

...more like a nightmare. X) Well, 33 days and it's over. Never would have thought I'd be happy when something that has been a dream of mine is coming to an end. But then again, this job has not been what I've expected. Hindsight is always 20-20. Should have found out more about the gig before coming here. But then again, I was so eager to come and live here that I would probably have come anyway.

Ehh, and also. It was a very nice day today. I was thinking in the morning how nice it would be to be outside on a day like today. That wish came true as well: filled out more holes in the drive & trimmed some hedges along it. If this place didn't feel like a prison before, then working by the road like a row of convicts did it.

The X gig is a month from today! Most likely it will be over by this time next month. They're apparently changing venues from the original exhibition place to somewhere else in Paris, which is why there has been no further information or confirmation of the gig by the French. There should be an announcement tomorrow.

...15 minutes till tomorrow. X)

I think there was something else as well, but I can't remember... the new girl still seems all right, and hasn't left yet. Hopefully she'll stay until September, as she's planning to. *touches wood*

Well, ta ta for now, I guess!

Bugger.

Some years ago I wrote a looooong FF7 fanfiction story. I just went to have a look on it on the website it's still hosted on, and noticed that they've gone and changed their settings so that the text in the story is now all bunched up. The dividers between scenes are all gone, and I liked to jump from one scene to another a lot. It looks horrible, and must be a bitch to read. Auuugh. I can either delete it, but that would also delete all the feedback I've gotten for it, or upload the whole thing again.

All 41 chapters. Re-edited. The whole 385 pages of it.

Crap.

I've been wanting to rewrite it for a long time, but it's not likely I'll have the energy or time for that until I get back home. Five more weeks... good news is, the new girl seems to be settling in well, is not afraid of work and getting dirty, and plans to stay until September. Which is nice. Will make my leaving here much easier.

No boom today.

37 days, 888 hours to go!

Yesterday we got a new worker here, so far she seems very nice, and a good worker. 18 years old, and likes comics! No one who likes comics can be all bad. ^^

Umm, did I actually have anything worthwhile to write here... still no official announcement from the organizers on whether X will be playing in Paris. Bah.

Noticed just now that my hair almost reaches my shoulders in the back, and stopped to wonder how it has grown so much in the few months I've been here. Then I realized that I've been here almost six months. So no wonder.

Oh yeah. I'm on Pages Unbound now!

http://www.pagesunbound.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=177&Itemid=2

It's a site for both writers of original fiction and people who want to read books/serials on the net. The story is still found on my other blog; this site just... pimps it. ^^

'puter is running out of juice since I can't plug the power cord in, borrowed my adapter to the new girl and she still has it... so, signing off for tonight!

DO WANT.

...to see them live.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EioHkqQ7qdw&feature=related

hide is there! Just as a hologram, but still. Those wacky Japanese. What will they think of next? But seriously, if they play Art of Life during the gig in France, I might not survive it. If so, know that I died with a smile on my lips. It's my absolute favourite song. Seeing the live from New year's eve 1993 is enough to blow my mind. Hearing it actually live might be too much.

Annoyingly enough, the French still have not verified that X will be playing during the Japan Expo. I now have a ticket for that day, but no idea whether I need a separate ticket for the gig. There are a lot of other bands playing there that you can go and see with just the ticket for the expo, but this is X.

Hee.

Learned a few things today while filling holes in the drive. When operating a large and heavy sledgehammer (to pack the new earth in the hole tightly), do not lift it so that you whack yourself with the butt of the handle on the chin. Also, I do not suggest dropping the sledgehammer, business end first, onto your big toe. Not onto any toe, but luckily my experience is limited only unto one toe. Both my chin and toe are fine, though. It's the rest of me that's dead tired. It's midnight and I've been working pretty much non-stop since 10am, so no wonder. Bleah. 39 more days... or maybe it's 38 already. Time does go by blessedly fast. Can't believe it's June already. My head is still somewhere in March.

Anyhoo, that's about it for tonight. Tooduloo!

Okay so it's actually a bridge BOARD, not port. Good to know. And the reason the other two didn't work was because they were made to work only with one drive, not with two as we were attempting. You learn something every day.

Pissing with rain for about the third day in a row. Luckily the weather was nice yesterday while I was in Reading. Ah, British weather.

Changing Sun-kissed update schedule into weekly since that's far more realistic than daily. Not that it seems to have any readers... *cries* heh.

Can't for the life of me remember what else I was going to write, and since it hasn't come to me in the ten minutes I've spent staring at the screen, I'll leave it until the next time. Bye!

Sir Spamalot here, g'day!

"we've been scribbled in the margins
of a story that is patently absurd"

Amen, Nick. Amen.

Dig, Lazarus, dig!!! sounds quite good. But Mr. Cave's moustache... he he he...

Half past one now, bedtime soon. I hope.

"one day I'll buy a factory & I'll assemble y/
on a production line"

...that moustache... bet it tickles.

Continuation of the last one...

It's now 00:58, and the third bridge port I installed finally works. Wahey. The bloody poppy seeds are in from the rain. My hair is a little wet, but at least it smells nice (strawberry & cream shampoo, mmmm).

I'm hungry.

44 more days...

Reading from Reading

To my great surprise, I got to go to Reading (the closest big city, 10 minutes in the train from the village) this afternoon. I had asked a few weeks ago whether I could go there one day to buy some socks, since there are no clothes shops in the village and I was down to my last two pairs or so. Walking around all day tends to wear out socks pretty fast.

I'd already bought a few pairs on my last trip to London, so I just went on a spending spree in the big mall called the Oracle. I bought some neat things for the X-gig: wrist warmers and a choker necklace; two dvd's: The Elephant Man and second 'season' of Hamish MacBeth; Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' Dig, Lazarus, dig!!! -album (haven't listened yet but by the lyrics booklet, looks very interesting; and a few books, Jeff Lindsay's Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter plus M. C. Beaton's Death of a Dentist. That last one is one of the Hamish MacBeth series, and if you haven't seen the tv-show you've missed out! It's got Robert Carlyle, and he's always good. Except when he played Hitler. Oh, he played the part well, but you know what I mean...

Oh, I also bought... *drumroll* CHOCOLATE! From a place called Hotel Chocolat. Shelves and shelves full of all kinds of chocolaty goodness. I'm surprised they didn't have buckets all over the place to catch all the drool in.

The Oracle is only about five minute's walk away from the Reading train station, but there is still room for the city's only (at least that's what they claim) sushi restaurant on the way. And they make real good sushi there. Have to go and eat properly there next time, this time I just took a few cucumber bits as takeaway since had to get back here. Now it's after midnight, it's raining heavily outside, and I'm writing this while fighting with few drives and bridge port, since it apparently bloody well cannot wait until tomorrow morning. Bah.

Wish I had that chocolate here... *drools a little*

44 days to go!

Oh yeah, I told the boss last Wednesday that I won't be coming back when I go home in July. And today she started to ask why I want to go back to Finland, what's there for me, what my plans are. And that I am needed here. I know that, and I do feel rotten about leaving, in a way. But I need to go home. To get out. For one, it's half past midnight and I'm fighting with a fucking bridgeport! I've been here near six months by now, and I've been out of the house & village four times. I've not had a single proper day off since I started here. I've no time and very little urge to draw or write anything. And when I do get the urge, five minutes into it and I have to go and do something. I need my fucking life back, thank you!

So yes. I am going home and staying there.

Right now I have to go outside into the pouring fucking rain and take the bloody poppy seeds in. So, bye for now.

~48 days to go!

Yesterday I changed a power supply to a computer, rewiring the drives and everything. The amazing thing is that the computer actually WORKS.

Well, it worked yesterday. No one's yet tried whether it still works today...

I started to put up one of my stories onto the net. You can read it here: http://kashiistories.blogspot.com/

it's also linked on the front page of this blog. Correctly, this time. I wrote the address incorrectly at first and took me two days to realize it. Updating schedule is (tentatively) supposed to follow the days in the story, so first actual part coming today, the next on Wednesday. After that I'll try to keep it up, but I've only written a few days of it. Well, a timetable should be enough reason to get my ass writing. If I have enough free time. And that's a big IF.

Umm, what else... I feel much better about being here now that I know the end of this gig is really coming, and not too far away. And especially because the bosses seem so cool about me leaving and not coming back. I was terrified about telling them.

Right-o. I think that's it for now.

Psst! Your geek is showing...

"It was the dawn of the third age of mankind, ten years after the Earth-Minbari War. The Babylon Project was a dream given form. Its goal: to prevent another war by creating a place where humans and aliens could work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call, home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Humans and aliens wrapped in two million, five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal, all alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last, best hope for peace. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2258. The name of the place is Babylon 5."

If you don't get that one, you're not as obsessed with numbers as I am. I've actually been waiting for this day since... oh, 2005, I think. Just to pull that quote.

Sad.

In other news, I told one of my bosses yesterday that I won't be coming back here once I go home in July. She took it quite well. I don't know if the other one knows yet. But 10th of July is now officially the latest that I shall be working here. Woot! Less than 50 days to go!

London again!

Yay I got to go to London again today! Blimey, only been about a month since the last time...

Went to Harrods first to get the bosses what they needed, and got utterly lost in there. Nice place, though. Bought some souvenirs for peeps at home. Then I walked over to the corner of Hyde Park and sat on the bank of the Serpentine for a while, eating some chocolate. It was a cloudy, gray day after about a week or two of sunshine and warmth.

From Hyde Park I headed back to Knightsbridge tube station and traveled to Westminster. Coming out of the station this was what I saw:

The Big Ben. ^^ Well, Big Ben is actually one of the bells in there, but anyhoo. Went over the bridge to the London Eye...

...and in it!

It looked like London stretches on endlessly in every direction, even when the day wasn't too clear.

I think we were at least twice the height of Big Ben when at the top of the Eye.

My shoes, and some ant poo. No wait, those are people. I like heights, but have to admit, my palms were sweating.

The Thames, towards south, I think.

And, because you asked for it, N, me. Hello!

Look, you can even see my natural hair colour! First time in years.

After half an hour of going around slowly in the Eye it was time to start heading back. So tubed it to Paddington, where I bought sushi (yum!), a small map book of London streets, and some sweets. The wasabi really went to my nose, as always. But it was good. Yum yum. Train was in time and full, had to stand most of the way. And when I got a seat, I nearly fell asleep and could have happily dozed past my stop.

Now it's evening again, raining a little after a nice good shower. Feet are hurting and I'm quite tired, but it has been a nice day, even though I couldn't enjoy London fully, since these 'days off' always come with a deadline: have to be back then and then to do this and that in the evening. I haven't had a full day off since I started here. But just a few more weeks to go! X Japan is in Paris on the 5th of July, and after that I go home or come back here only just for a few days. We'll see. Freedom will come!

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Wait... WHAT?!

X Japan is touring again?!

They are coming to Paris in July?!?!

@__@

My brain just broke down. It is oozing out of my ears in little squealing pieces.

Obviously hide won't be playing, and it won't be the same without him, but...

Hot diggity damn.

I must see about going to see this gig. I mean, shit. Paris is like next door.

I just watched Art of Life live and thought I'd check this old fan page for X and there it stands in big pink letters.

If I don't stop grinning soon, the top of my head will fall off.

I can do handstands too!

I can, I just tried! I used to be able to even walk around on my hands as a kid. Then my boobs grew. Now, thanks to this work, I have actual muscles in my arms (and other places as well. I'm gonna kick so much ass when I get back to kickboxing), so I thought I'd give it a go. And after tossing myself on my back a few times, I managed to stay standing for almost two seconds!

Wahey.

In other news, the temperature here was about 24 Celcius with barely any clouds. I walked down to the post office in sandals and a t-shirt. And some pants as well. Not bad for the beginning of May.

Känkkäränkkäpäivä

I suck. No, really. You see, no matter what else I've done here during the past hide knows how many weeks, from actual work to cutting wood or being a plumber or a locksmith, it's my skills in vacuuming that are praised. That makes me feel so good about myself, you know: wow, I can point a metal tube at dust! Go me!

This is exactly how I like to spend my Saturday afternoons and evenings. Who cares about spending quality time with friends and family or -god forbid- resting on a day off (what's that? A whole unknown phrase in this workplace!). No, it's vacuuming tons of dog hair that I love to do!

And do you know what I'm gonna be doing tomorrow? That's right, boys and girls! WORKING! Yaaaaaaaaaaay!

Please excuse me while I go and choke on all this sarcasm, and pull out a small witch from my ass.

Roliga Vappen!

Or happy 1st of May to those who celebrate it. Have some pictures!

Moooooooo?

There's a whole sea of bluebells in the nearby forest. This picture is pretty bad, can't even see the colours well.

And a pretty flowering tree from the garden.

Crikey, tomorrow it's been 10 years since hide died. So about five years since I first heard of his music and became a fan. Time sure flies... speaking of time and flying, yesterday was day #135, if I remember correctly. Right now it looks like I'll be heading home around 10th of July.

Every time I see a plane flying over I long to be in it. And since we're not too far from one of the big airports near London, a lot of planes fly over us. Not too long to go!

Wall, meet forehead.

I have a nigh uncontrollable urge to start smoking cigarettes in the very minuscule hope that they would calm my nerves even the slightest fucking bit, and ease these homicidal urges. And pretty much the only reason I'm not out there walking to the closest shop/newsagents is that it's after midnight, every place is most likely closed, and there's a few miles of very dark road between me and any kind of civilization.

I am so fucking tired right now.

Pictures from London

Here's some pictures of my trip to London! First, Big ol' Freddie outside the Dominion theatre where they are showing the We Will Rock You -musical. Mmmmm.

Then we have the door to Freddie's garden, where fans still keep leaving messages for him, and also flowers. They keep painting it, but the fans always come...

And a bit of the street away from Freddie's. Yeah, all the pictures I took were connected to him. I'm a fan, so sue me... ^^ You can see from the flowering trees how far along spring is here. It was a very warm day as well. I want to go back to London...
